Save Big on Your Energy Bills

Spray Foam

Known to be energy efficient, spray foam has higher R-values than conventional insulation. Its also has seamless air barrier that reduces uncontrolled air leakage that results in lower energy costs. Spray foam is ABAA evaluated and approved for use in air barrier systems.

R-Value

Thermal resistance (R-Value) indicates the resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulation effectiveness. Closed cell spray foam has the highest R-values, two inches is optimal and 2" = R24, making it one of the most cost-effective insulations on the market.

Improve Indoor Air Quality

By controlling air infiltration, you can greatly reduce and even stop the entry of dust, pollen, and soil gasses like radon into your building. Such a controlled environment in your home or office can help you live a more comfortable life, with less cleaning too.

Save Money

A building with a good insulation and controlled air infiltration reduces the use of fossil fuels for energy and CO emissions, helps save money, and reduces the capital outlay for heating and conditioning.

Control Air Filtration

Infiltration is generally caused by leaks around windows and doors, voids, joints, and cracks inside the building structure. Uncontrolled air often flows through the inside structures of a building such as walls and ceilings, under base work, and along hidden pathways in the plumbing or electrical system.

Our Insulation Products

From closed cell foam to open cell foam and RetroFoam, we can install your insulation in almost any type of space:

  • Walls
  • Floors
  • Ceilings
  • Foundations
  • Crawl spaces
  • New construction
  • Attics
  • Pole barns
  • Refrigeration units
  • Basements

Closed Cell Foam

Closed cell foam is known to be air tight and moisture proof. Close cell 2 lb. foam is sprayed onto walls as a liquid before expanding into a hard foam. Our closed cell foam is a two-component, HFC-blown (zero ozone-depleting) liquid spray system that cures to a medium-density rigid cellular polyurethane insulation material.

The closed cell foam insulation has polyols that is derived from naturally renewable oils, post-consumer recycled plastics, and pre-consumer recycled materials. This Class A (Class 1) fire-rated foam insulation meets the requirements of ICC-ES AC377 Acceptance Criteria for Foam Plastic Insulation.

Check out Intertek Code Compliance Research Report CCRR-11043 for code compliant application information. It is a Type II foam in accordance with ASTMC1029.

Closed cell foam insulation is designed to provide high thermal performance and is sprayed in up to four inch passes. The foam insulation becomes an air-impermeable insulation once it is sprayed. This type of insulation is best suited for temperatures ranging from -40 degrees F to 200 degrees.

Open Cell Foam

Because of its good insulating properties, open cell 1/2 lb. foam is sprayed onto walls as a liquid before it expands into a soft foam. Open cell is a great sound barrier and usually structures made of open cell are air tight. Unlike traditional insulation, open cell is well resistant to time and temperature.

With a single application, open cell spray foam expands to seal all cracks, gaps, and joints. Our open cell foam insulation never settles, contracts, deteriorates, decomposes, or compacts as compared to traditional fiberglass insulation. Here are a few reasons why you should choose our open cell foam insulation:

  • Minimizes outside noise, as airborne noise can no longer easily pass through walls
  • Less dust and allergens enter the environment due to the air tight seal
  • Cuts heating and cooling costs as much as 50%
  • Contains no ozone-depleting chemicals, gases, fibers, or asbestos
  • Maintains peak performance; it never deteriorates or decomposes

Our open cell foam insulation is in compliance with the International Building Code© (IBC), International Residential Code© (IRC), and International Energy Conservation Code© (IECC).

Spray Foam Insulation vs RetroFoam Wall Insulation

Spray foam insulation is the next big thing in the home improvement industry. Spray foam is an ideal choice for new construction but isn't always a good choice for existing homes. Insulating walls of existing home with spray foam can lead to tearing down of your walls.

RetroFoam is specifically designed to be installed into existing walls. It makes insulation a stress-free process. RetroFoam is cost-effective, energy-efficient, and easy-to-install.

According to the Department of Energy, the average American spends $2,000 annually for their energy bill. RetroFoam can help reduce your energy bills while providing a long-lasting comfort to your family. With energy costs expected to increase, RetroFoam will quickly pay for itself by reducing your utility bills.

I had been putting off insulating my home, but knew I needed to do something as my home ages and energy costs increase. Shawn and his crew fit me in despite my request being last minute on 11/09/2022. I was not home at the time of the appointment and Shawn sent me pictures as his crew worked on injecting the insulation foam. I was impressed by how well they cleaned up after the job, they even cleaned out my gutters, just because they saw it was needed. The temp on Wednesday, the day of install, was 80 degrees. By Friday, the temp had dropped to below freezing and even colder over the weekend. I did not need to turn on my furnace until Saturday evening. In just a couple of days, the temp inside my home has remained consistent and comfortable (without my furnace constantly running), and the chill in the air that I am used to during fall & winter weather is gone. I also noticed that the sound from cars driving by and kids playing outside is barely heard inside my home which means my dog is barking less. Shawn told me that the insulation foam would reduce noise. Even though I believed him, I was shocked at the results. Between the noise reduction and better control of the temperature in my home, I cannot recommend Gateway RetroFoam enough. Giving them 5 Stars doesn’t come close to expressing how satisfied I am with their work.
